ALPHA BRAIN WAVES |
|
|
 |
In
1924 a German psychologist Hans Berger detected electrical
activity in the brain. He used the electro-encephalograph
and picked up two distinct levels of electrical activity which
he named Alpha and Beta.
It was many years later that another two levels of electrical
activity were discovered and called Theta and Delta. ..Dr
Richter of John Hopkins University found that the brains electrical
activity is a result of individual brain cells firing of their
electricity in set patterns.
There has been a lot of research into the four levels of electrical
activity that our brains work on. Alpha and Beta are generally
the levels that we operate in during the day while Theta and
Delta we experience at night. |
|
| Depending
on which level of the brain and mind we are operating in that
influences how we feel, how we behave, but most importantly
how we perform. Researchers estimate that on average we spend
about 90% of the day with our brains in the Beta level. ..Beta
is the level of logic, analysing, and reasoning. ..Beta is a
very useful level to operate in, but often people get stuck
in beta Stress, tension and negative thinking are common when
our brain is in beta. ..It has been found that the Beta level
can significantly affect our brains ability to: store information
(memory), access our creativity, focus and concentrate and the
workings of our physical body. |

The
alpha level of the brain is the strongest and most prominent
brain rhythm. There is a direct relationship between our stress
levels and our brain rhythms. The more stressed we are the
faster our brain tends to operate and this affects our ability
to operate in the alpha level. High stress lifestyles and
the constant pressures of daily life mean that most people
can rarely access alpha when they need it most. A lot of people
see glimpses of what they are capable of but do not understand
how to access these abilities at will.
The
Alpha level is now often referred to as the peak performance
level. ..Athletes often refer to playing in the 'zone', when
they have tapped into alpha during their performance. The
alpha state is now recognised world wide as an important part
of preparing an athlete for competition. Coaches, trainers
and managers are using many of the findings from brain and
mind researchers and incorporating them into their training
programs. Dr Khalsa has found that everyone can experience
astounding results when they can access the alpha state at
will. |
|
Dr Khalsa found that
the brains bio chemistry is fully balanced when in the alpha
state and naturally the brain begins to function at an optimum
level. ..Memory and concentration improve dramatically. ..Decision
making and problem solving skills are working at their peak.
..Dr Khalsa has also established a strong link between the
alpha state and healing and rates of recovery within the body.
The alpha training seminar gives people
the tools to be able to access the alpha state at will. ..Students
then learn how to focus the power of this level to achieve
amazing results. ..The alpha state has been used by thousands
world wide to speed up the realisation of their goals, overcome
bad habits such as smoking, tap into their creativity or to
simply eliminate stress at will so they can sleep better at
night.
